Now, I should make it clear that I don’t blame Tommy Lee Jones for this. For example, you have Harvey Dent, AKA Two-Face. One pretty big problem is that many of the characters in the movie are done completely wrong. Get rid of the the blue, shining lights inside, and lose the big middle wing at the back of the car.īut like I said, this is just a minor nitpick, especially compared to the other things I’d like to talk about. The other two details are much simpler, by comparison. The Batmobile in Batman Forever doesn’t have a turbine or really any air intakes that you can see at all. That engine would need to be cooled down, and the turbine at the front drives the afterburner.
That makes perfect sense, when you consider that this is a car strapped to a jet engine. There are several air intakes, for example, including the big turbine in the front. Firstly, something that really made the 1989 Batmobile great is that, in terms of its design, there is a logic to it. I think there are just three details you’d have to change to make the design work. There is something about the way the Batmobile looks in this movie that doesn’t quite work, and I only recently figured out what it was. I’ll start off easy, with one of the smaller issues with the movie: The Batmobile. Because of this, I have decided to write about it, and share some observations I’ve made about it lately. But on closer inspection, I’m starting to doubt that assessment. Now, I have mentioned it in passing once before, where I said I considered it so bad it’s good.
It’s a movie I’m more familiar with, know more about but most of all, I think is more interesting.Ī word of warning, though. But rather than going for the equally infamous as obvious Batman & Robin, today I’m going to talk about Batman Forever. The time has come, I think, to tackle one of the Joel Schumacher Batman movies.
